Playwrights Theatre

Playwrights Theatre is accepting submissions for 27th Annual NJ Young Playwrights Contest. Plays are accepted in: Elementary (grades 4-6), Junior High (grades 7-9), High School (grades 10-12), Rewrites (grades 10-12) and Podstages (Grades 10-12).

Playwrights Theatre is proud to announce its 24th season. The 2009-2010 programming includes three mainstage productions, the popular FORUM reading series and classes for children, teens and adults at the Creative Arts Academy.

Jim DeVivo, Director of Education at Playwrights Theatre in Madison, NJ received the Governor's Award in Arts Education - Distinguished Service to Theatre Education, which is sponsored by the Speech and Theatre Association of New Jersey.

From the nearly 370 plays submitted by young writers throughout New Jersey, a panel of theatre professionals has selected four High School plays, four Junior High School plays and four Elementary Schools plays to be performed on May 18 & 19, 2009.
