The Children Helping Children program helps American children make a positive connection with children in India and Latin America. The program has raised over $400,000 to support the global mission and ministry of the School Sisters of St. Francis.

Speaking Nov. 16 at the Milwaukee headquarters of the School Sisters of St. Francis, Milwaukee Bishop Emeritus Richard Sklba said meekness is characterized by self-assurance, intentional self control, and a conscious and complete dependence on God.

The School Sisters of St. Francis have announced successful completion of a two-year, $2 million campaign to repair and restore the roof of St. Joseph Chapel, the religious community’s 94-year-old architectural and historical Milwaukee landmark.

Milwaukee Catholic Bishop Emeritus Richard Sklba will lead a discussion of Jesus' teaching that "the meek will inherit the earth" in a presentation from 7:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 16, at St. Joseph Center, 1501 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee.

The School Sisters of St. Francis will present a special service of music and prayer in Milwaukee on September 7 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy. The event is free and open to the public.
