Homeowners participating in US Senate-backed trial mortgage modification programs are claiming their properties are being unfairly foreclosed upon. Homeowners say despite making timely payments, their homes are still being foreclosed.

$25 million was spent at foreclosure auctions in Sacramento and Oakland last weekend. Seven out of the top 10 metropolitan area foreclosure rates are in California, and experts predict the trend will only continue to rise in the near future.
