As we grew older, our parents directed us, shared wisdom, and shined guidance in our lives. With the nest of youth long faded, and children gone, comes a time when our parents need us to help prepare them for the transition into a new stage of life.

The baby boomers should take heart in knowing that their children will come back to their nest during festivals and special occasions. One fact that cannot be forgotten is that a bird always returns to its own nest, no matter how far it flies off.

Gardening is a soul enriching experience. The joy to bring up a young sapling is tremendous. It is just like bringing up your own child. Probably because of this reason, many boomers enjoy this hobby.

The drive in theatre is back with a bang. The senior citizens can once again live the lives, long forgotten in the race to make a career.

Baby boomers are no longer restricted to homes and hospitals. Instead, they have transformed themselves and their lives. Life as they say never stops. It keeps bringing joys of many kinds.

Gone are the days when one had to save loads of money to get entertained. These are modern times when the aged have decent amount of money to enjoy a whole lot of activities.

Many senior people dread the day of retirement from work. To many, retiring means an end to your social life and your youth. Retirement does not in any way mean the end to one’s life or work.

There is a popular saying “old is gold”! I would vouch for this as I have seen my grandfathers who made this saying come alive. They belonged to a generation of strong willed and able bodied people. Both men and women included.

One pattern that has recently emerged is that a baby boomer is getting older in much better condition than prior generations. Much better health care, improved individual focus on diet and exercise create an optimistic future for a baby boomer.
