US mutual fund investors added about $20 billion in net new cash to US stock and bond mutual funds in August 2010 (excluding ETFs and funds underlying VAs), according to Strategic Insight, a business intelligence provider to the global fund industry.

Driven by ongoing demand for bond funds, US mutual fund investors added about $25 billion in net new cash to US stock and bond mutual funds in July 2010, according to Strategic Insight, a business intelligence provider to the worldwide fund industry.

Despite a challenging second quarter, net flows to long-term mutual funds worldwide in the first half of 2010 reached $500 billion, twice as much as in 1H 2009, according to Strategic Insight, a business intelligence provider to the fund industry.

Led by a robust $138 billion in net inflows to bond mutual funds, US-based stock and bond mutual funds drew $176 billion in net inflows in the first half of 2010, says Strategic Insight, a business intelligence provider to the fund industry.

Despite the return of extreme volatility to financial markets, US mutual fund investors withdrew a net of only roughly $7 billion from stock and bond mutual funds in May 2010, according to Strategic Insight.
