Alden Health Care and Senior Living

Opening Spring 2012, Alden Estates of Shorewood Rehabilitation and Health Care Center will offer state-of-the-art physical, occupational and speech therapies daily as well as orthopedic, cardiac, stroke/neurological and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Annette Borcky, RN, has been appointed administrator of Alden Estates of Shorewood, specializing in short-term orthopedic recovery and post-acute services. Borcky will provide leadership at the facility, which is opening in Spring 2012.

Over 100 families attended the Annual Alden Estates of Orland Park Halloween Adventure where more than 10,150 pieces of candy were handed out by residents and staff at Alden Estates of Orland Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Over 500 children trick-or-treated through ‘haunted hallways’ at Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Rockford, where more than 14,500 pieces of candy were handed out by residents and staff at the Annual Alden Halloween Adventure.

Over a dozen residents, families, friends and neighbors of Alden Lincoln Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Chicago walked at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease.

Alden Valley Ridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center held a Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce After Hours Mixer for local business professionals. The event included special remarks by Jane Hove, Executive Director of the Chamber.

This past Halloween, over 70 people attended the free Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale Halloween Adventure for residents, their families and friends.

For the past four years, residents of Alden's six Health Facilities for Children and Young Adults have taken great pride in participating in the Special Olympics Illinois-Alden Fall Games for individuals with special needs.

‘Graduates’ of the Short-Term Optimal Rehabilitation program at Alden Des Plaines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center met for dinner and drinks at the Therapy Reunion to celebrate their recoveries.

Emma Lakes has been named 2011 Housekeeping Professional of the Year by the Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA). The awards were announced during the IHCA Annual Convention in Peoria.
