Leading transgender and gender non-conforming child organization, TransActive Education & Advocacy, issues request for PRE and POST narratives from families of transgender and gender non-conforming children and youth.

While both Dr. Anissa Rogers and Dr. Heidi Allen support the work of TransActive, there is no existing, IRB-approved research relationship at this time between TransActive, Dr. Rogers, Dr. Allen, the Univ. of Portland or Portland State Univ.

For youth who identify as transgender or transsexual, or who express gender dysphoria and discomfort with their anatomical body, early intervention can alleviate future difficulties and assist young people to mature in their affirmed gender identity.

After careful consideration, the court concludes that the defendants’ application of Wis. Stat. § 302.386(5m) to these plaintiffs constitutes deliberate indifference to the plaintiff’s serious medical needs in violation of the Eighth Amendment.
