World Animal Awareness Society

World Animal Awareness Society's first wave of volunteers have begun training as documenters/spotters for oiled or injured wildlife in the Gulf. The team will collect visual data, as well as act as "spotters" of affected wildlife.

The World Animal Awareness Society is preparing the next crew to work in the Gulf with the ALL EYES ON THE GULF campaign. WA2S.org is inviting filmmakers to join the expedition to help document this disaster.

Tom McPhee, Executive Director of the World Animal Awareness Society is scheduled to embed with the US Coast Guard on Saturday, May 8, 2010 for an overflight of the Gulf Regions affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to document the response.

Tom McPhee, Executive Director of the World Animal Awareness Society will be in the Gulf region on Wednesday to begin documenting the human - animal intersection that is now occurring after the tragic oil spill on April 20, 2010.

The inaugural Visionaries Club from Dearborn High School will be inducted and receive official credentials from Tom McPhee, Executive Director of the World Animal Awareness Society, on May 11, 2010

The next stop for "An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever!" is The Sarasota Fringe Film Festival. The film will begin to unspool at 1:50 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

An American Opera will be shown at the East Meadow Public Library in New York on April 5, 2010 as part of an Independent Film Series. Producer/Director Tom McPhee will be in attendance for a meet and greet beforehand and a Q&A afterward.

The Maddhatter's Takeover is a full day of events on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Tom McPhee, Executive Director of WA2S.org,The Maddhatter, will join supporters wearing their most outrageous HATs as the WA2S.org takes over animal inspired events in NYC.

The World Animal Awareness Society - WA2S.org takes over the Rescue Party Tour. WA2S.org is developing the Tour to benefit rescue groups around the country by giving them opportunities in which they can participate. Next stops are New York & Florida.
