Speak Up Talk Radio announced the winners of the International Firebird Book Awards. Amongst them was W.D. Kilpack III for Battle Calm in the Science Fiction category, and received a special award: Best Literary Merit.

The Life, the Universe, and Everything (LTUE) Symposium for Science Fiction and Fantasy Creators announced the authors taking part in the 44th annual event being held Feb. 12–14, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel in Provo, Utah.

Pale Face by award-winning Utah author W.D. Kilpack III is one of five finalists in the Literary Global Book Awards in the Novella category. The annual awards celebrate excellence, originality, and impact in contemporary publishing around the world.

Utah science-fiction and fantasy authors, W.D. Kilpack III and James Catlin, will be coming together at this year's FanX Salt Lake Comic & Pop Culture Convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center Sept. 25–27, 2025.

W.D. Kilpack III released Battle Calm: Omega Message, the second in the award-winning Battle Calm Cycle, on Amazon. "It's very exciting to have this trilogy come to life," Kilpack said.

Four international indie fantasy authors, calling themselves the Company of Adventurers, team up to create a fantasy sampler. It consists of the first one/two chapters from fantasy novels by award-winning authors Rune S.

The BookFest announced the winners of the BookFest Awards at their semiannual virtual event on April 5, 2024. Receiving a BookFest Award in the Novella category was W.D. Kilpack III for his science-fiction novella, Pale Face.
