The BookFest announced the winners of its semiannual BookFest Awards, recognizing outstanding works of fiction and nonfiction. Among the honorees was Utahn W.D. Kilpack III for Rilari: Book Four of New Blood in the Dark Fantasy category.

W.D. Kilpack III, an award‑winning fantasy author from West Jordan, has partnered with Boundless Creations Bookshop in Smithfield, Utah, to carry his internationally acclaimed epic‑fantasy series, The New Blood Saga.

W.D. Kilpack III of West Jordan, Utah, released his sixth fantasy novel, Usurper's Might: Book Six of New Blood. Published March 30 on Amazon, it continues the award‑winning New Blood Saga, which earned 43 literary honors across its first five titles.

Utah science-fiction and fantasy authors, W.D. Kilpack III and James Catlin, will be together to meet readers at the national StoryCon Convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center Feb. 27–28, 2026.

Speak Up Talk Radio announced the winners of the International Firebird Book Awards. Amongst them was W.D. Kilpack III for Battle Calm in the Science Fiction category, and received a special award: Best Literary Merit.

The Life, the Universe, and Everything (LTUE) Symposium for Science Fiction and Fantasy Creators announced the authors taking part in the 44th annual event being held Feb. 12–14, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel in Provo, Utah.
