All of the Olympic hopefuls for Women’s Match Racing will be in Palma de Mallorca, Spain this coming week for the 43rd Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofia MAPFRE.

Emotions ran high on the water as Olympic dreams came true for some and ended for others. Finland and Spain will be going to the Olympics in Women's Match Racing and Germany and Slovenia will not. One more place remains to be decided on Sunday.

Strong winds and tough competition proved to be the knock out punch for three of the nine teams as they were eliminated from the 2012 Women's Match Racing International Country Olympic Qualifying Regatta.

The pressure is on as three of the nine women's match racing teams competing to qualify their country for the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition will be eliminated at the end of the first round robin and the top six will move on to to the next stage.

Nine countries will be competing in Key Biscayne this week for the three remaining spots in the Women's Match Racing Event at the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition.

The final battle for Olympic country qualification in Women’s Match Racing will take place the first week of February on Biscayne Bay in Florida, USA. Teams from nine countries will compete to qualify their country for one of the three final spots.

The first day of the 2011 Delta Lloyd Regatta Women’s Match Racing event was sailing in difficult conditions with lots of wind and shifts. Tamara Echegoyen (ESP) and Ekaterina Skudina (RUS) are both undefeated.

Nineteen top international women’s match racing teams from fourteen countries are in Medemblik, The Netherlands, preparing for the Delta Lloyd Regatta, the next stop in the ISAF Sailing World Cup series.

Twenty-four teams from eighteen countries will be competing for the women's match racing title at the 43eme Semaine Olympique Française – with a remarkable 20 of those teams ranked in the top 25 in the World.
