WPGA open a Juried competition for students and recent graduates of photography, fine art and design: The Nadar Award. Students from other careers, who are amateur photographers may also qualify to submit.

WPGA sponsored by ZOOM and Professional Women Photographers open a Juried competition for women photographers only: The Julia Margaret Cameron Award. Winner images will be published in ZOOM .A portion of the proceeds is donated to Save the Children.

The Jacob Riis Award is organized by WPGA in partnership with Save the Children and sponsored by Eyemazing Magazine.Photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought. Award: publication in Eyemazing Magazine + $ 3,000.

Dilip Bhatia, Tom Atwood and John Delaney have won first, second and third prize, respectively, in the Photographer of the Year category of the WPGA 2009 Annual Contest. Larry Louie is the recipient of the Documentary Humanitarian Grant.
