This Friday, December 2nd marks the launch of "The Pigeon Presents: The Philadelphia Poetry Slam" at Media Bureau Network, located in Northern Liberties. The monthly event will be held every first Friday; poets sign up at 8:30pm, show starts at 9pm.

Poets Ms. Wise and Def Poetry veteran Black Ice will be featured performers for the debut of the IDEA Performing Arts Center Open Mic Night on Friday October 28th; the monthly series kicks off at the Susquehanna Bank Center on the Camden Waterfront.

Rel Dowdell's "Changing The Game" is chosen as one of only nine feature films at the 2011 Hollywood Black Film Festival, hosted at the Andaz Hotel on the world famous Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. The film screens Saturday October 29th at 8:30PM.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Atlanta Pride will join forces at Spelman College in honor of National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11th; KIN4LIFE and Nefertiti and the nefTunes will perform anti-bullying anthem "Lone Ranger".
