Businesses gathered for the ECOSWITCH Awarding Ceremony held in Makati City, Philippines last September 25, 2012, as the European Union-funded GPIoS project honored companies that successfully implemented environmental sustainability measures.

PRO-FIT or Promoting Food Industry Competitiveness Training Program conducted a training of trainers on qualification courses last July 30 to August 24, 2012 at the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries in Quezon City.

Structured Program to Achieve Food Safety Excellence (SAFE) in Cambodia, an initiative implemented by Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), TUV Rheinland and DEG, ended with a Best Practice Forum in Phnom Penh.

International NGO ASSIST now accepts entries for the 2nd run of the Ten Photos to Shake the World National Photo Competition, under the theme “Challenges and Triumphs in the Pursuit of Sustainable Development". It runs until September 13, 2012.

ASSIST's initiative SHARE (Sustainable, Hygenic, and Resource Efficiency for Cambodians) held its first Multi-stakeholder Discussion in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodiana Hotel and Somadevi Angkor, respectively last June 28 and 29, 2012.

In collaboration with members of Energy Efficiency Practitioners of the Philippines (ENPAP) (see photo of auditors above), ASSIST conducted eight energy audits in Metro Manila and Cebu last March 3 to June 17 for its ConservePhil Project.

LEAP Indonesia project implementers Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) and PT TUV NORD Indonesia held a review forum last June 26 and 28 in Jakarta’s Hotel IBIS and Medan’s Hotel Aryaduta.

The Justice and Healing Project conducted a stakeholders forum and the last of its 15 barangay forums last June 14 and June 26, respectively. The activities convened officials and women’s advocates for this initiative on gender-based violence.

The Zero Carbon Resorts (ZCR) project concluded its second phase through a conference in Palawan. Launched in 2010, ZCR Project aimed to enable tourism SMEs in the Philippines implement energy-saving measures towards sustainable tourism.

Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) joined the seventh Asia Clean Energy Forum, held last June 4 to 8 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, along with more than 800 stakeholders from 55 countries.
