The 2012 Public Policy Agenda addresses key areas that the Early Care & Learning Council and its member agencies will focus on throughout 2012.

Programs in New York State help to improve quality of infant/toddler care. The Early Care & Learning Council has released two reports on the quality of care for infants and toddlers in New York State.

The Early Care & Learning Council manages and supports the work of the Infant Toddler Resource Network. The Network has adopted a common definition of quality – 10 Components of High Quality Care that have been agreed upon by national experts.

Parents and the High Cost of Child Care: 2011 Update provides results from a survey of Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) State Networks and local agencies, which asked for the average fees charged by child care programs in 2010.

The Early Care & Learning Council, New York’s Child Care Resource & Referral Network held its Annual Board Meeting & Luncheon at The Albany Country Club June 15th and welcomed new Board members to serve on the Board of Directors for the 11-12 year.

Linda K. Smith, Executive Director of the National Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) will to meet with the Early Care & Learning Council on June 14th and 15th in Albany. NACCRRA is the nation's leading voice for child care.

A panel discussion on Education and Employability will occur at the New York State Society for Human Resource Management (NYSSHRM) Diversity & Inclusion Leadership conference in April.

The Early Care & Learning Council Is Spreading the Word So That Eligible Families Don’t Miss Out On Tax Credits

More than 50% of babies and 60 – 70% of toddlers in New York are being cared for in child care. Their needs are different from preschoolers. The Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) approach has 6 program practices that form a basic strategy.
