Guests at Hotel Galvez & Spa can hear stories of the “Ghost Bride” and other reported strange occurrences during the annual ghost tour and dinner in October.

Hotel Galvez & Spa is offering a Romantic Rendezvous weekend featuring a Wedding Vow Renewal on Valentine’s Day weekend, Feb. 10-12, 2012. Couples are invited to renew their vows at 11 a.m. on Sat, Feb. 11 and participate in Mardi Gras! Galveston.

Santa Claus, the Mayor of Galveston and Queen Victoria will all be attending the City of Galveston’s free, public Holiday Lighting Celebration at Hotel Galvez & Spa on Friday, Nov. 25 from 6-8 p.m. Donations for the Salvation Army accepted.

The Saengerfest Mini Monster Bash, a family friendly Halloween carnival, offers a costume contest at 3 p.m., assorted games with prizes, and trick or treating at various downtown businesses from 2 to 4 p.m. at Saengerfest Park, 2302 Strand.

In addition to the island’s popular ghost tours, visitors can enjoy a new permanent haunted house in downtown Galveston– Haunted Mayfield Manor which opened on Sept. 23.

Hotel Galvez & Spa is extending its ghost tour to the public as part of a special three-course dinner special on Thursday evenings and on Halloween. The hotel will also offer special overnight ghost tour packages for guests on Thursdays and Sundays.

Unlike Houston, Galveston's downtown isn't surrounded by 75-story skyscrapers; the island's tallest building is a mere 20 stories giving The Rooftop Bar at The Tremont House a charming panorama of historic downtown Galveston.

Hotel Galvez & Spa is collaborating with Rosenberg Library’s Galveston & Texas History Center to host a series of exhibits & presentations at the hotel during the months of July, August & September as part of the hotel’s centennial celebration.

Hotel Galvez & Spa will commemorate its 100-year reign as “Queen of the Gulf” with a free community celebration on Saturday, June 11. The grounds will come alive with family activities, live music and a fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico.
