In 2010, Humanity Road responded to 72 events at a cost that averages to about $46 an event; less than many pay for a tank of gas. How is a small nonprofit able to make such a difference on a tiny budget? The key is a dedicated team of volunteers.

Volunteers from Humanity Road, Inc., are leading a team monitoring online communications and contributing reports to a map of the Libyan crisis for the United Nation’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Herold Charles, a disaster volunteer for Humanity Road has been selected to receive the prestigious TeenNick HALO award and will be recognized for this at the TeenNick HALO awards premiere on December 10, 2010.
