Dave Shalabi of RE/MAX Synergy in Orland Park, Ill., and Alison France of RE/MAX Excels in Geneva, Ill., recently were cited by Chicago Agent magazine for the exceptional sales growth they achieved in 2015.

The RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network reports that the sales volume generated by its brokers increased sharply in 2015. Total sales volume for the year was $8.6 billion, which translates to a 13 percent increase from the 2014 total.

The Chicago area’s newest RE/MAX franchise, RE/MAX Northern Shores, opened its doors on Jan. 12 in the heart of Skokie, Ill. The new office is located at 8814 Niles Center Road.

RE/MAX Suburban, the largest RE/MAX brokerage in Illinois, has acquired RE/MAX Experts of Buffalo Grove, Ill. The acquisition was completed on Jan. 26.

Sales of homes priced at $1 million or more in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market accelerated in 2015, while their median sales price declined slightly, according to the RE/MAX Luxury Report on Metro Chicago Real Estate.

The metropolitan Chicago housing market showed steady improvement in 2015, RE/MAX reports. The median price for all homes sold in the seven-county metro area was up 8 percent from 2014 to $211,000.

Chicago-area homes tend to sell more quickly than they did just a few years ago. According to RE/MAX, the average market time for all homes sold in the metro Chicago market fell from 139 days in 2012 to 93 days in 2015.
