Volunteers for the International Surf Lifesaving Association (ISLA) and Lifeguards Without Borders will travel to Macedonia to conduct a European Lifeguard Exchange in an effort to promote water safety and prevent drowning.

The International Surf Lifesaving Association (ISLA) is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteer lifesavers and emergency medical personnel dedicated to preventing drowning through local and international training and education.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – Volunteer lifeguards from the non-profit, the International Surf Lifesaving Association (ISLA), will travel to the Dominican Republic (DR) to offer a Junior Lifeguard Camp as part of an initiative to minimize drowning.

ISLA President, Henry Reyes, was awarded the title of “Lifesaver of the Year.” Henry competed against nine other finalists; all nominated for their impact on the lives of others in a water-related capacity.
