Home sales activity in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs and in the broader metropolitan Chicago real estate market rebounded strongly during the second half of 2009, and in both cases RE/MAX retained its leadership role in residential brokerage.

Home sales in Will County, Ill., posted a 3.3 percent increase last year, larger than the increase achieved by the metropolitan Chicago real estate market, with RE/MAX retaining its position as the county’s leading brokerage organization.

The O’Hare suburban area led a 2009 rebound in home sales in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market with a 44% increase over 2008 levels. RE/MAX retained its position as the area’s leading brokerage organization.

Home sales rebounded in the Lincoln Way area of Chicago’s southern suburbs during the second half of 2009 just as they did in the entire metropolitan Chicago real estate market, and RE/MAX remained the area’s leading brokerage brand.

The Elgin-area housing market recorded a 7 percent increase in activity in 2009, surpassing the performance of the metropolitan Chicago real estate market as a whole, with RE/MAX retaining its position as the home sales leader.

A 12 percent increase in home sales during 2009 distinguished the Greater South Suburbs area as one of the top performers in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market with RE/MAX retaining the leading share of that sales activity.

Kane County, Ill., home sales rose 66 percent during the last six months of 2009 when compared to the first half of the year and were 23 percent higher than in the last half of 2008, while RE/MAX remained the home sales leader.

Home sales during 2009 in Cook County, Ill., bounced back thanks to strong activity in the second half of the year. At the same time, RE/MAX regained its position as the leading brokerage organization for home sales in the county.

Kendall County, Ill., led the 2009 rebound in homes sales that was felt across the metropolitan Chicago real estate market, and RE/MAX agents once again led the county in buyer representation.

Home sales in DuPage County, Ill., turned up sharply in the second half of 2009 so that sales activity for the full year topped 2008 results. At the same time, RE/MAX retained its position as the leading brokerage organization in DuPage County.
