Keeping Us Safe

Keeping Us Safe is pleased to announce the development of a national partnership with GoGoGrandparent that will help older drivers that may be experiencing a diminishment in driving skills remain safe and independent at the same time.

This presentation, 1-hour in length, is designed to provide Indiana's social workers with the skills and competencies necessary to address the issue of dementia-related cognitive decline as it relates to older drivers.

The event is sponsored by The Wave radio station (FM-107.3) and will be held at the La Malfa Party Center in Mentor, Ohio, on Valentine's Day.

Keeping Us safe is a national organization headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, that provides services to the families of older drivers as they become concerned about an aging parent's safe driving abilities.

"Our goal is to provide the family with the tools necessary to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for their loved one as they slide from the driver's seat to the passenger seat." explains Matt Gurwell, founder of Keeping Us Safe.

Keeping Us Safe's 'self-assessment program' for older drivers provides these families with the missing link between their desire to bring the driving issue to a peaceful resolution, and their ability to actually do so

Having received this certification, Wiedenfeld is now well-suited to provide older drivers and their families with a very specific program that will help them make decisions on how to keep the older driver safe.

Holidays remain a time of togetherness and love, but it can also be a great opportunity to observe your parents to determine if their physical and cognitive skills are still sufficient for safe driving.

Keeping Us Safe's "Self-Assessment Program" for older drivers is an early intervention program, designed (in part) to relieve a valued employee's distress surrounding an elderly parent's driving.

Keeping Us Safe has developed a program specifically designed to prevent such tragedies in the country's third most populous state, Florida.
