For Preston Garibay, 16, the dream of becoming a pilot began when he was young. His fascination with airplanes and aviation began when he was a kid watching air tankers soar across the sky during fire season.

Luna Mattke, 16, has a plan.  She will stop at nothing to fulfill her dream of flying and someday being Mission Qualified as a KC-135 Stratotanker Pilot with the 141st Air Refueling Wing near Spokane.

Mikey Doyle, 16, who attends West Ashley High School in Charleston, South Carolina, received a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 from the Lyons Aviation Foundation to support him to begin his flight training as he pursues a private pilot certificate.

Levin So, 17, of Honolulu, Hawaii, has always loved airplanes, but it only took a few flight lessons at Barbers Points Flight School to confirm his dream to fly and become a professional pilot.

Veda Miles, 17, who attends Northfield High School in Denver Colorado, received a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 from the Lyons Aviation Foundation to support her in completing the requirements for a private pilot certificate.

Philip Krzyszton, 18, who attends Cochrane-Fountain City High School in Fountain City, Wisconsin, received a scholarship in the amount of $3,000 from the Lyons Aviation Foundation to support him in completing the requirements for a private pilot...

Colin Manning, 17, who attends Steilacoom High School in Steilacoom, Washington, received a scholarship amount of $3600 from the Lyons Aviation Foundation to support him in completing the requirements for a private pilot certificate.
