notloB Folk Concerts

The Boston Hub is marking DAY ONE of this once-in-an-era shift on December 22, with 9 hours of celebratory events in two locations, Cambridge College, 1000 Mass. Ave., 10a-4p; and historic Arlington Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave., 7-10p.

Scheduled for October 17 – 21 at the Regent Theatre, AIFF will screen films from Argentina, Armenia, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Palestine, Poland, UK, and USA.

notloB Folk Concerts has produced not-for-profit concerts in the greater Boston area since 2007. The series is volunteer-run; 100% of the donations go to the musicians and production expenses.

Boston-area residents will have a chance for a sneak preview of the music to be offered at 68th annual New England Folk Festival (Mansifield, April 20-22) by attending this NEFFA-sponsored "showcase" in Davis Square on March 23.

Lord Geoffrey and Dr. Pearne are Jeff Boudreau and Dennis Pearne, two scurrilous card-carrying members of the Boston-area folk scene whose mission in life is to re-kindle the great folk scare by presenting vintage musicians of that era.

On Friday, February 17 at Unity Somerville notloB Concerts presents three of the finest traditional musicians of their genre – Kimberly Fraser (Caoe Breton), Brian Conway (Sligo) and Mark Simos (Irish, Southern old-time, New England, Quebeçois).

Volunteer-run and not-for-profit notloB Folk Concerts enters its fifth year of presenting local and touring old-time, traditional and revival folk, Celtic, bluegrass and blues artists to audiences in the greater Boston area.

Guitarist/composer Flynn Cohen leads a band of string geniuses performing original multi-genre acoustic music. Primarily instrumental, they combine influences ranging from Irish traditional music, old-time Appalachian, bluegrass and early music.
