Since 2006, 94 multi-year scholarships in the name of the orangutan have been awarded to Indonesian students in the fields of biology, forestry & veterinary science. Over 50 students have graduated and have become advocates of orangutan conservation.

Annual event raises awareness concerning orangutans and their endangered status as their forest home on Borneo and Sumatra is threatened by agricultural conversion and fires. The theme this year is “Working together toward sustainable solutions."
