First or second time juvenile offenders will benefit from a $25,000 grant that the Office of Faith Based Initiatives (OFBI), a Division of Programs in the Department of State, recently awarded Mercer County, NJ, nonprofit PEI Kids.

To educate Mercer citizens about child sexual abuse, PEI Kids/Greater Mercer Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and the Mercer County Commission on Abused, Neglected and Missing Children recently hosted a community workshop.

Generous grants and support from a number of philanthropic corporate and foundation donors are allowing PEI Kids to provide more than 16,000 Mercer County children and their families with programs focused on keeping them safe.

Due to Hurricane Sandy, PEI Kids has rescheduled its Seventh Annual "Tasting in Titusville" from Friday, November 2 to Thursday, November 29 and has organized a diaper drive for children affected by Hurricane Sandy to be part of the fundraiser.

A $25,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the City of Trenton will help PEI Kids -- a nonprofit dedicated to keeping children safe -- serve at-risk teens via its Comprehensive Juvenile Offenders Outreach Services (CJOOS) program.

PEI Kids will host its Seventh Annual "Tasting in Titusville" on Friday, November 2, at the Union Firehouse, 1396 River Road (Route 29), Titusville, NJ, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person or two for $100.

On October 4, 2012, the Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer will honor Mercer County nonprofit PEI Kids with a grant supporting its Crisis Intervention for Child Victims of Sexual Abuse Program.

Three grants totaling $33,000 will benefit PEI Kids’ Crisis Intervention for Child Victims of Sexual Abuse program, which, last year alone, provided immediate counseling services to 255 child victims of sexual abuse in Mercer County.

PEI Kids recently raised more than $55,000, honored The College of New Jersey's Bonner Center, and recognized four outstanding community leaders as PEI Kids’ PALS (People Appreciated for Long Service) at its 21st Annual Dinner and Auction.
