In 2012, the growth rate of tourist arrivals in Nicaragua exceeded 11 percent, up to the month of October, compared to 2011. This number is expected to increase during 2013.

According to official data from the Central Bank of Nicaragua (BCN, for its acronym in Spanish) total exports ranked up to US$2,677 million in 2012, 18.3 percent more than in 2011.

Coffee reclaimed its former position at the top of Nicaragua’s export list in 2012, accounting for US$519 million in sales last year.
