SGS Industrial Services officially opened the SGS Wind Energy Technology Center (WETC) on June 13, 2011, in Tianjin, China.

SGS Industrial Services was awarded a contract to provide complex inspection and testing services for a thirty-eight storey steel structured building, located at Chin Shan South Road in Taipei City, Taiwan on April 28, 2011.

SGS Industrial Services was awarded a contract on April 28, 2011 to provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control for a groundbreaking project of revamping and extending the Habac Nitrogenous Fertilizers and Chemical Plant in Vietnam.

SGS will be participating in Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum in Santiago, Chile as a silver sponsor. Throughout the entire event SGS will give two informative presentations on Risk in Hydro and Renewable Projects as well as Concessions.

On May 14, 2011, SGS held a successful Workshop on Instrumentation and Control Valves at the SGS PID valve calibration shop in Esteio, Brazil.

On May 2, 2011, SGS Industrial Services in Nigeria was assigned with the African Oil and Gas Inspection Excellence Award 2011 by the African Leadership magazine.

SGS INTRON was awarded a contract to provide complex Certification Services for TenCate Grass and its partners in 2010.

On June 29-30, 2011, SGS is attending the RenewableUK Offshore Wind 2011 Conference and Exhibition in Liverpool, UK.
