The SESAR 3 JU exploratory research project AWARE has completed its validation campaign, demonstrating that an AI assistant can work alongside air traffic controllers as a supportive "team member" while keeping the controller firmly in control.

The AWARE SESAR project successfully completed its dry run tests. The sessions took place from 10 to 13 February 2026 at the LFV R&D Centre in Malmö, Sweden.

The AWARE team – comprising FTTS, ZHAW, LFV, TERN, and UPM – held a workshop at LFV's Research and Development Centre in Malmö to test and gather feedback on the first prototype of the Artificial Situational Awareness (ASA) system.

By completing the conceptual framework, the AWARE project reached an important milestone.
