Delectable South County fare was on the menu at the RI State House on May 7th for the 21st Annual “Celebrate South County Day . . . and the Rest of the State!” officially kicking off National Tourism Week.

The North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) announced that South County Tourism Council won Gold place in the 2012 Annual NATJA Awards Competition.

The Sixth Annual South County Bridal Show is Sunday, Jan. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Towers, 35 Ocean Rd., Narragansett.

The South County Tourism Council announced the winners of its 11th Annual Photo Contest. The winner was Steve Wood of Wakefield with "Enjoying the Sunset."

The South County Tourism Council is holding its 11th Annual Photo Contest to portray the area's many personalities. Entrants are encouraged to submit images from the 449-square mile South County region.

The University of Rhode Island’s Ocean State Summer Writing Conference will be held June 21-23 at URI’s picturesque campus in Kingston. Writers have an opportunity to raise their writing under the direction of bestselling authors and poets.

On June 21, 2012 America's Cup racing history will come to life off the coast of Narragansett Town Beach. Famed 12 meter America's Cup yachts will race in the first ever South County 12 Meter Regatta.

The Everett Hale House in Matunuck, RI, was once a haven for artists during the summer months. The restored Hale House will host its inaugural season for transdisciplinary learning in the Arts and Ecology June 7-10 and Oct. 11-14, 2012.

Along with the robins and the crocuses, everyone is eager for spring’s arrival. The lengthening days provide the perfect escape throughout South County along its hiking trails, beaches and parks.
