The YMCA also served 1,265 young scholars in summer and afterschool programs at no cost, achieving an average growth of 1.5 months in literacy and math.

Camp programs include STEAM learning, group games, sports and holiday arts and crafts.

The funding will be used to fund the YMCA's Find My Genius after-school and summer programs.

Participants can have their picture taken with Santa and receive a framed photo, and enjoy breakfast and hot cocoa.

Each family will receive a box filled with food items such as cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, chicken stock and turkey gravy, plus a $60 Ralph's gift card for a turkey or ham.

Since first opening its doors a little over 40 years ago, the Simi Valley Family Y has been a second home for generations of families.

The community festival features over 15 fall and Halloween-themed decorated car trunks where YMCA childcare staff pass out candy.

Third graders from all 18 Simi Valley elementary schools will take part.

Youth & Government is an opportunity for high school students to learn how government works.
