Southeast Ventura County YMCA

California Strong, Southeast Ventura County YMCA, in partnership with Proactive Sports Performance, will provide essential supplies to Los Angeles wildfire victims

Checks were handed out on December 11 at the Yarrow Family YMCA in Westlake Village.

Before and after camp daycare is included. Hours are 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.

Fire victims can go to www.californiastrong.org and fill out a needs assessment form. The first round of funding is in early December.

Proceeds from tree sales go to organizations in the community, underserved families and YMCA programs.

The new board will support the mission and goals of the Simi YMCA and the Southeast Ventura County YMCA and function as ambassadors for both.

The gala looked back on the YMCA's 60 years beginning when Western movie star Joel McCrea and his wife, Frances, donated part of their ranch between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark that would later become the Conejo Valley Family YMCA.

The festival features over 20 fall and Halloween-themed decorated car trunks where YMCA childcare staff pass out candy.

Co-founded by Connie and Steve Ballmer, Ballmer Group funds organizations and leaders that help children, especially those born into poor families, with economic mobility.

Proceeds from the evening benefit Southeast Ventura County YMCA programs.
