Sterling Silver from Taxco

Enrique studied at the San Carlos Academy of Art in Mexico City, the same art school as Diego Rivera, Matilde Poulat, and Ricardo Salas. As a boy, he served his silversmith’s apprenticeship in his father’s workshop.

Hector Aguilar was born in 1905 and, at the age of 30 started as jewelry apprentice for William Spratling at Las Delicias.

Taxco's silver mines were discovered when Hernan Cortez followed a trail of tin coins to a small village in the mountains of southern Mexico.
