Eighty-two athletes from twenty-six countries have made the trek to the Bay Island of Roatan in Honduras to compete in this year's AIDA Depth Freediving World Championship.

Tom and Meghan Gilmore, taking their first freediving course just three years ago, a father daughter pair, are now representing the USA at the sports' pinnacle of competition at the 2016 International Association for the Development of Apnea (AIDA) Team..

Kurt Chambers and Ashley Chapman have been whipping up a storm at this year's Caribbean Cup, an annual freediving competition based on the island of Roatan off of the coast of Honduras.

Jackie Dent, an American athlete living and training in Perth, Australia, broke the USA Women's National Freediving Record in the discipline of Dynamic No Fins (DNF) with a swim of 142 meters / 466 feet on a single breath.

USA Freediving is proud to announce that Forrest Simon-Daris will be the sole representative for the USA at the AIDA Pool Freediving World Championships. The event is in Turku, Finland from June 25 to July 3, 2016.

Mandy Sumner of Hawaii has won gold at another international freediving competition.  Mandy won a gold medal at the world championships a month ago. Triple Depth is her third depth competition in that time.

Claire Paris of Miami, Florida broke the USA Women’s National Freediving Record in the freediving discipline of Dynamic No Fins with a swim of 128 meters / 420 feet on a single breath.

Belgrade, Serbia. John Hullverson, of Tiburon, California, broke his own USA Men’s National Freediving Record in the freediving discipline of Dynamic No Fins with a swim of 150 meters / 492 feet on a single breath.
