The seventh annual WEDU Be More Awards™ will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa. The annual event, recognized as the “Academy® Awards for Nonprofits,” begins at 11:00am.

WEDU Public Media will host an Early Childhood Educator Workshop featuring PBS series “Sid the Science Kid” on January 19th, 2012. The workshop will incorporate a PBS educational resources focusing on a early childhood STEM learning environment.

WEDU’s local monthly series, A Gulf Coast Journal with Jack Perkins, recently received a $125,000 grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation to support the ninth season with six new episodes beginning in January of 2012.
