OrthoWilmington is pleased to announce that Joanne (Anne) B. Allen, M.D., a member of its medical staff, has been elected as trustee for medicine on the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Board of Trustees.

Neil R. MacIntyre, MD, a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic trauma surgeon with OrthoWilmington is the 2016 recipient of the Dr. Thomas Clancy Trauma Award. Dr. MacIntyre was recognized at the 27th Trauma Symposium.

The region’s comprehensive center for orthopaedic care, OrthoWilmington, has expanded its staff with an additional certified nurse practitioner, bringing their medical staff to 23 physicians, 19 physician assistants and four nurse practitioners.

Following the upcoming retirement of Michael D. Carter, MD, and the closing of his practice, Carter Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, OrthoWilmington specialists will begin providing his patients with access to on-going orthopedic treatment.

OrthoWilmington has expanded its walk-in medical clinic hours and staff to better accommodate patients with orthopaedic conditions that need to be addressed quickly, but are not serious enough to warrant an emergency room visit.

Wilmington resident Elizabeth DeBiasi has been elected to the International Board of Directors for Easter Seals.
