The Santa Ana Family YMCA gives care boxes, blankets and free breakfast to low income and homeless senior citizens.

The Fullerton Family YMCA is hosting an Open House on Saturday, January 25th from 11:00 AM-2 PM at 2000 Youth Way in Fullerton. This event is free and open to the community.

The Fullerton Family YMCA held a Donor Appreciation Dinner to thank contributors who made it possible to do the $4.2 million facility renovations in 2007-2008. They also held their first Bowling Tournament and raise over $25,000 in scholarships.

In a school where 48% of their students are considered overweight to obese, the YMCA Earn a Bike Program was started to increase the amount of physical activity performed by the students and improve the nutritional content of their diets.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for our troops overseas so the YMCA of Orange County is partnering with Words of Comfort, Hope and Promise, Cub Scout Pack 290, Hot Yoga, and local Starbucks to bring some Christmas joy to military families.

YMCAOC C.A.R.E.S. Backpack Supplies Drive a huge success thanks to the support from the community and everyone’s generous donations. Over 4000 supplies were collected and 240 kids will start their school year off with tools for success.

With summer here, swim safety is on everyone’s mind. The Y, as the leading nonprofit teaching people to swim for over 100 years, takes a proactive approach to ensure that all members of our community, from children to adult, can learn how to swim.

Volunteers make it possible for the Y to change lives. Christian Torresluna has been a member of the Fullerton Family YMCA branch board for 4 years and is recognized for his amazing service, dedication and commitment to the YMCA and its mission.

The YMCA of Orange County (YMCAOC) has been bestowing the Chairman’s Distinguished Service Award to volunteers since 1978. This year, San Clemente resident Erin Spriggs was recognized for her amazing service, dedication and commitment to the YMCA.

AT&T has awarded the YMCA of Orange County a $5,000 grant to purchase new computers for the Benson YMCA Afterschool Program. This grant will support a new technology center and will extend learning and enrichment opportunities for children at the Y.
