Colombo Dockyard recently delivered another Platform/ ROV Support Vessel Greatship Rashi to Greatship (India) Limited (GIL), a subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited.

Thome Ship Management, Sg managed Mt. Kirsten, SCi owned LPG Carrier “Nanga Parbat” & Mercator Line, India owned MT. “Harsha Prem”, Sanmar Shipping, owned MT. “Sanmar Majesty” are undergoing repairs in the yard.

Today (9.02.2011) for the first time in the history of local shipbuilding industry, Colombo Dockyard named a vessel which will be charted by the owner Greatship Group, for the world renowned Brazilian Oil Company PETROBRAS.

Preliminary investigations reveal that a gas leak (Oxygen) has occurred from a gas cutter left out during the lunch break at around 12.40 Hrs on the 3rd February 2011, which caused a small explosion subsequently.

Mercator Line Ltd, Mumbai India owned dredger MV. Darshani Prem (9,965 DWT) called in for her major layup and drydocking repairs during October 2010.

Eurobulk Ltd. managed container carrier MV. Tiger Bridge (30,400DWT) called in for her intermediate drydocking call to Colombo Dockyard during end November 2010.

Colombo Dockyard recently embarked on a Behavior Based Safety Program in order to build a uniform and strong safety culture across company's operations and galvanize the workforce by enhancing their safety competencies.

Colombo Dockyard secured the optional contract on the 31st of December 2010 for the construction of one more 78 m MPSV with a 3600 deadweight capacity for the Greatship Global Offshore Services Pvt Limited of Singapore at an undisclosed price.

Container Carrier Tiger Cape managed by Columbia Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte Ltd. called in for her intermediate drydocking survey repairs to Colombo Dockyard during early November 2010.

The New York Stock exchange listed Safety Management Overseas SA, Greece owned bulk carrier MV. Pedhoulas Trader called in for her intermediate drydocking call to Colombo Dockyard during October 2nd week 2010.
