Adelphi University is pleased to announce that Michael J. Driscoll M.B.A. ’89 has been appointed as a visiting professor and senior executive-in-residence at the School of Business. The appointment is effective April 1, 2010.

Adelphi University welcomes Amy Swerdlow, activist, and founding member of the peace activist group Women Strike for Peace. She will deliver a lecture, “To End the Arms Race—Not the Human Race: Women Strike for Peace in the 1960s."

Adelphi University’s International Initiatives Committee will host a lecture by the Ambassador of Romania Simona-Mirela Miculescu. The event is free and open to the public.

“Images of Africa in the Age of Obama,” seeks to raise awareness about the African continent and its many peoples while providing a context for understanding representations delivered through media.

Lewis Aron, director of New York University’s postdoctoral program in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, will speak on “Deconstructing Psychotherapy/Psychoanalysis: Unsuspected Relevance to Hate and Prejudice Today.”

Adelphi University is proud to present Steel Magnolias in the University’s Performing Arts Center (AU PAC). There will be a beauty prize raffled off at each performance and the proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Adelphi University will host Social Action Day. The event will focus on social advocacy and is part of the University’s Social Work Month celebrations, which honors the work that social workers do to help improve community life.
