Adelphi University

Adelphi University has elected Christopher D. Saridakis ’90, chief executive officer of GSI Commerce Inc.’s (Nasdaq: GSIC) Global Marketing Services division, to its Board of Trustees.

Adelphi’s Nicole Bruno ’13, Janae Cummings ’13, Beverly Gantt ’12, Florie St. Aime ’11, Brittany Consigli ’10, and Donna Truong ’10, volunteered and took part in a research project with members from other universities.

The field will now be known as Motamed Field.

Adelphi is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2010 Bender Research Fellowship Awards. Professor of Management Jeffrey Goldstein’s work was honored with the Three Year Body of Work Award, while four others received the Best Paper Awards.

Adelphi University is proud to announce that its president Dr. Robert A. Scott was honored with a top prize in the “Print Weeklies” editorial category of the 2010 Press Club of Long Island Media Awards Competition.

For the fifth consecutive year, Adelphi University has been rated a “Best Buy” in higher education by the Fiske Guide to Colleges. The University is one of 45 institutions—21 public and 24 private—to be recognized by the college guide.

On May 14, 2010, Adelphi University’s Ruth S. Ammon School of Education and the Center for Social Innovation hosted a stakeholder forum to discuss the need for educational reform and address the problem of segregated school systems on Long Island.

Adelphi University is pleased to host “In America,” an exhibition of artwork by alumnus Jack Dowd ’60.

The forum will benefit educators and individuals who wish to learn more about the Triangle Factory fire.

Noel Burks’43, M.S.W.’65 will receive the Ruth S. Harley Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Adelphi University at its 114th Commencement on May 18, 2010, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 1255 Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale, NY.
