Cheyney University Keystone Honors Academy students were recently involved in original research projects in the STEM areas that integrated classroom material with applied learning experiences.

Melaniesha Abernathy and Khalif Brown recently published their works in the Villanova Junior Law Review. Both Abernathy and Brown are undergraduate students at Cheyney University and enrolled in the university's Keystone Honors Academy.

Nancy Moses, author of Lost in the Museum: Buried Treasures and the Stories They Tell, will have a book signing and panel presentation at Cheyney University. She will be joined by Cheyney University professors Drs. Shirley Parham and Shirley Page.

Cheyney University undergraduate student, Subena Perry, presented her work of fiction, "Pinch of Salt to an Open Wound," at the 2008 English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) conference at Kutztown University .

Former Philadelphia Mayor, the Honorable John F. Street, will visit Cheyney University, the nation’s oldest historically black institution of higher education on November 11, 2008 to speak to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.

Cheyney University NAACP college chapter, in cooperation with the CU College Republicans and Young Democrats organized a debate for area incumbent, Tom Killion, and candidate, Ian Thomas.

Cheyney University ranked number one of the college units of the NAACP. For the past four years, the CU unit has been in compliance with national standards and recently registered over 1,000 students to vote on the university’s campus.

CU Student, Walter Lewis, placed first at the NSF HBCU-UP Research Conference. The project is the result of his research conducted at the Brookhaven National Laboratory during his internships in the summers of 2006 and 2007.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania in collaboration with the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on October 29, 2008.

Daddy’s Promise: A Lifetime of Love, the nationwide initiative celebrating the bond between African American fathers and daughters, will be making a stop at Cheyney University on Monday, October 27th.
