Cheyney University of Pennsylvania will be opening its doors to high school students, transfer students, and students interested in degree completion as part of their Fall Open House event to be held on Friday, October 30, 2009.

Cheyney University's President, Dr. Michelle R. Howard-Vital, was named as the recipient of the Philadelphia Beauty Showcase National Historical Museum’s Educational Leadership Award earlier this month.

On October 5, 2009, Ms. Andrea Darlyn Wilder was crowned Miss Cheyney University. As Miss Cheyney University, Andrea will serve as an important ambassador of Cheyney University spirit, representing CU at various pageants and special events.

Officials at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania have announced that the University experienced a 4 percent enrollment increase over enrollment last year (2008) bringing the headcount to approximately 1488 students for the Fall 2009 Semester.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania will be holding Community Day on Sunday, June 14, in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Cheyney Challenge Bike Race.

The Second Annual Cheyney Challenge bike race is going to be held on Sunday, June 14th in coordination with the Cheyney University Community Days outreach program and the Chester County Velo and Human Zoom.

Cheyney University will be awarding an honorary doctorate to Harriet Mayor Fulbright at the 2009 Commencement Convocation on May 2.

Cheyney University's Art and Lecture Series will present the music of Mr. Gerald Veasley on Saturday, April 25th at 7:30PM in Dudley Theatre.

Salome Thomas-El, Philadelphia Educator, will speak at Cheyney University as part of the Universities Art and Lecture Series this month.
