As 2012 comes to a close, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. is hoping people will be cleaning out their closets and homes and bringing in their gently-used items to their local Goodwill donation center.

Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres and Naples are among a host of cities nationwide that are seeing the sudden appearance of unattended collection bins. While some are owned by bona fide charities, many actually benefit for-profit organizations.

Local business owner and philanthropist Earl Hodges delivered the commencement at the November 15th Southwest Florida MicroEnterprise program graduation.
