A video showing the innovative approaches eighth graders took to solving an engineering problem at the December 2008 National Fluid Power Association (NFPA’s) Fluid Power Challenge is now available online.

The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) seeks feedback from fluid power industry stakeholders on several key components of the fluid power technology roadmap to achieve industry-elevating advancements for hydraulics and pneumatics.

NFPA’s Fluid Power Challenge was held at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. 74 eighth-grade students competed to solve a fluid power challenge by designing and constructing a mechanism that used fluid power technology to perform a defined task.

NFPA embarks on IT roadmap for shaping technological advancement of fluid power by identifying industry-elevating technology advancements and determining action plan to achieve those advancements.

MSOE to host the NFPA Fluid Power Challenge from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12th where twenty teams of four 8th-graders each will build fluid power mechanisms to pick an object from one platform, rotate and place it on another.
