“It’s Alive” celebrates kinetic and interactive art by fifteen Bay Area artists. From the small and subtle to the enormous and wacky, these amazing works of art are engineered to move and interact with the observer. Reception May 20, 2010.

This July the Bay Area's premiere arts facility presents their first ever Fire Cabaret, bringing the flames inside for an intimate evening of music, drinking, dancing and illicit fire with seductive performances by the denizens of HEAT.

There’s a force for positive change in West Oakland sparked by the popular bicycle program at The Crucible, the Bay Area’s school of industrial and fire arts, where youth are introduced to art and science through hands-on workshops and classes.

At The Crucible adults and young people can have a unique experience exploring their own inner creative genius in a variety of workshops and classes in blacksmithing, jewelry-making, glass, neon, woodworking, and even flaming hula hoop.

After a decade of making fine and industrial art accessible to the Bay Area, Founder Michael Sturtz transitions to Creative Director; Kathleen Brown joins team as Interim Executive Director.
