24-26 February 2010 was the AITAC ICT meeting, and the creation of the ".africa" domain was the "Black Swan" events amongst the Bankers conference that was dominated by Mobile Money initiatives and technologies.

In the ICANN Nairobi conference held between 7 -12 March 2010, the African ICANN Community shared the same vision for the governance model as DotConnectAfrica (DCA), on how the ".africa" domain is to be managed.

The 14th Ordinary Summit of the African Union heads of state and Government that took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the theme Information Communication Technology from 25 Jan to 2 Feb 2010 gave endorsement to the “.Africa” domain name.

DotConnectAfrica is invited to present the .africa project and its benefits to Regional Integration and Business community, at the regional top banking conference, AITEC Banking & Mobile Money COMESA, Nairobi, 24-25 February 2010.
