Southeast Ventura County YMCA

The scholarships are awarded in memory of Carter Stone, an incoming freshman at Agoura High who passed away unexpectedly just before the start of the school year and after making the football team.

This is the ninth year that the YMCA delegation, comprised of Newbury Park high school students, has volunteered to make lunches.

This was the first in person Gala since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Signups for the 2022-23 Adventure Guides and Trailblazer programs are still being accepted.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Southeast Ventura County YMCA programs including Find My Genius, a free five-week summer program for low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level.

Childcare is available on school days, pupil-free days and minimum days.

The funds raised from the evening support YMCA programs including Find My Genius and Safety Around Water.

Southeast Ventura County YMCA Adventure Guides is for fathers and their children.

The after-school Find My Genius pilot program is at five Conejo Valley schools with the goal to expand the free program year-round.
