Two of Valerie Walden’s paintings will be part of the 14th Annual Austin Settings Fundraiser at Austin Country Club, April 21-22, 2010. The event features elaborately designed and decorated tables, complemented by artwork by Austin Pastel Society.

Valerie Walden has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Art City Austin event April 24-25, 2010 produced by the Austin Art Alliance. Over 190 artists from around the U.S. were selected by a panel of jurors to come to Austin.

Valerie Walden will pack-up and paint outdoors in Historic Downtown Marble Falls, TX as a participating artist in the 5th Annual Paint the Town Plein Air Event hosted by the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance April 16-18, 2010.

Valerie Walden will be among the artists presenting at the third annual fine art exhibition at Barton Creek Country Club on April 24. Ms. Walden will be unveiling new paintings that feature the Mendocino, Alaska and Marble Falls.

Austin Art Space Gallery and Studios officially opened submissions for the 2nd Annual ‘What Texas Means to Me’ Juried Awards Show. The Entry deadline is June 1 for the exhibit that runs July 2 – August 28, 2010.

The Austin Art Space artists-in-residence cooperative has expanded to include sculptor and plein air artist Cindy Debold and nature photographer Trish Nedry, bringing the total number of studio artists up to ten.

Six of Austin Art Space’s resident artists have joined together to support services that enhance the quality of life for older adults. Each artist donated a work to be auctioned off by the Faith in Action Caregivers-Southwest Austin on February 18.

A new painting by Valerie Walden will be included in the 2010 Annual Austin Pastel Society Member Exhibition. “I Hear the Whistle Blowing” features a dramatic, mountain-side train in Skagway, AK. The exhibition runs March 8 through May 1, 2010.

Austin Art Space announced the selection of art work to be featured in its fifth annual ‘For the Love of Art’ show running February 8-27, 2010. The event is a juried exhibition and sale featuring the artists’ varying interpretations of love.

The roster of nine Austin Art Space resident artists changed with the New Year. Austin painter Terry Starnes and photographer Orion Knox have taken studio space in the cooperative that just began its second year in business.
