Six Elant residents battled it out with their best culinary offerings in the hopes of being named Elant’s 2010 Cook-Off champion. In the end, it was Glen Arden resident Pearl Dennison who won the judges’ favor.

The Elant Foundation is pleased to announce that five Elant employees have been awarded scholarships from three separate funds to help support educational and professional growth.

The Third Annual Elant Golf Outing at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club in Poughkeepsie was another record-breaker for the Elant Foundation. Preliminary figures show that the Elant Foundation netted more than $49,000, a 16.7% increase over last year.

Elant at Fishkill and Wappingers Falls nursing homes have been recognized as 2010 recipients of the Bronze Commitment to Quality National Quality Award presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Elant at Brandywine Nursing Home adds Heart Song, an individualized music therapy program, couples music and song with guided imagery to help residents manage stress, alleviate pain and anxiety, reduce depression, and enhance memories.

Almost 20 residents of Elant at Fishkill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center – all of whom were in wheelchairs – were able to see first-hand the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historical Park during a recent outing.

More than 40 Newburgh Free Academy students marked the completion of their Certified Nursing Assistant internships recently during a touching ceremony at Elant at Fishkill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.

The Glen Arden Enriched Housing Unit recently expanded its patio area to include raised flower & herb beds, along with a sturdy patio table set – complete with an expansive shade umbrella – large enough to seat six.

For the second year in a row, the Elant at Brandywine Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center was found to have no clinical deficiencies during its recent annual health inspection conducted by New York State Department of Health surveyors.
