United Way of St. Joseph County Participating in MyFreeTaxes Program, Offering Eligible Taxpayers Free Tax Preparation

United Way of St. Joseph County will be holding their Annual Board Meeting on Feb. 21 from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Crowe Horwath in South Bend.

The FamilyWize-United Way partnership with local pharmacies has saved people living or working in the South Bend area more than $1,689,507 on everyday prescription costs.

There’s still time for clients of I&M and NIPSCO to take advantage of a free home energy audit. The opportunity to participate for the Energizing Indiana audit is open until March 2013.

United Way of St. Joseph County just released the 2012 Needs Assessment Report. The comprehensive data and research compiled in the needs assessment report provides a detailed picture of our community’s most pressing needs.

The St. Joseph County Emergency Food and Shelter Board, directed by United Way of St. Joseph County Financial Stability Division, announced that it has completed the allocations process for 2012 Phase 30 Emergency Food and Shelter grant funds.

Many of our neighbors are struggling to stay warm during the winter season. In response, United Way of St. Joseph County's Team HEAT helps families pay their heating bills, learn about budgeting and get the support they need.
