Hospice at Home

The South Haven office of Hospice at Home is having its annual Relay for Life flower sale fundraiser. Flats of petunias, impatiens, wax begonias, periwinkle & marigolds will be available on Saturday, May 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The program allows patients to complete their end of life journey without worrying about their pet’s current or future needs. The initiative provides volunteer pet care services for patients who are unable to care for their pets.

The South Haven office of Hospice at Home is having its annual Relay for Life flower sale fundraiser. Orders for flats of petunias, impatients, wax begonias, periwinkle & marigolds are being taken from now until Friday, May 7th.

On May 15, hundreds of runners, walkers, and other supporters will descend upon the Edgewater Area of St. Joseph to take part in the 6th Annual Run, Walk, and Rock to support Lory’s Place, the grief healing and education center of Hospice at Home.

The Making Memories: Remembering Mothers program includes opportunities to remember mothers as well as nurture your own self by moving through activity stations in which you can highlight memories and life lessons.

Hospice at Home Medical Director, Dr. George Drake, was honored as the Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Association Dream Team Medical Director for the State of Michigan.

These services honor patients and families served by the organization, as well as community members who have died in the previous six months. These non-denominational programs are open to the public with a simple reception following the service.

Hospice at Home, in partnership with Area Agency on Aging, provides this program to help caregivers learn how to obtain needed community resources, manage caregiver stress, monitor safety and risk, and decrease the sense of caregiver burden.

This program is being put on to help family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

On April 15, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, Hospice at Home is welcoming the public at three locations in Southwest Michigan with free information about advance care planning and advance directive forms.
