PineCone - Piedmont Council of Traditional Music

PineCone presents Jake Shimabukuro, the "Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele," on Thursday, April 30 at 8 p.m. at Raleigh's Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $21-$23 for PineCone members or $23-$25 for the general public.

This program combines folktales from Japan with folk songs, original masks, origami, and a touch of magic to entertain any audience! This free performance takes place on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. Program notes will be provided.

One Night...One Admission...Two dynamite bands. PineCone's Down Home Series continues on March 11 at 8 p.m. in downtown Raleigh with the Grammy-nominated Dan Tyminski Band and the Tony Rice Unit each scheduled to perform a set during the evening.

The annual North Carolina Sacred Harp Singing Convention will take place at the Page-Walker Art and History Center on Feb. 28. The day includes a potluck at noon, and community singing sessions from 9:30 a.m. – noon and from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

PineCone and the North Carolina Museum of History present the Golden Echoes as part of the Music of the Carolinas series on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Museum's Daniels Auditorium. This performance is free and open to the public.

David Grisman and John Sebastian share the stage in Meymandi Concert Hall on Saturday, Feb. 7 after more than 40 years with separate acts. This performance is part of a limited tour around their latest live-in-the-studio album, "Satisfied."
