The Social Model Hospice movement is really taking off in the United States. The model addresses the needs of the caregiver profoundly. It is like a 'home away from home' in providing 24 hour care for the person dying.

The beautiful ministry of the chaplain during the end of life time period is one of the best offerings of hospice and hospitals. A great chaplain can do more to facilitate healing than most other roles or therapies or strategies combined.

It is already happening in the end of life field; soul based businesses are being created every week. The 'death positive' movement, which we in the hospice field have been a part of all along, is really taking root outside of mainstream healthcare.

Support for self-care among workers who serve the dying is not as popular as you may think.

There are many new programs and platforms now in 2016 where people are bringing their particular wisdom to the world regarding death and dying.

This is a new industry because we lost our way of knowing how to take care of our own dying over the last 70 or so years.
